Drmtlgy is one of the more notably underrated skincare brands. Especially regarding the cosmetically elegant quality of their sunscreens. Although it has gained traction in the last several years online thanks to skincare and beauty gurus that boast their love for their products. Perhaps, it’s the moderately confusing lack of vowels the brand has used in their name, or consumers confusing it with other similar sounding skincare brands, but I often find the average individual has never heard of Drmtlgy.
Drmtlgy has several beautifully formulated sunscreens, and also claim their products have no white cast. The majority of their sunscreens-and products in general- come in nearly identical packaging, with the exception of their newest sunscreen launch Day Dream SPF 40. With little investigation, this can make it difficult to differentiate the difference between them to many.
Here’s the break down of all of Drmtlgy’s Sunscreens and the differences from someone that has now been using Drmtlgy sunscreens for over 3 years.

UV Filters: Zinc Oxide 12.00%, Octinoxate 7.50% (Hybrid)
Other notable ingredients: Niacinamide, Glycerin
What the brand boasts:
• Oil free & fragrance free (noncomedogenic)
• Suitable to sensitive skin
• Lightweight feel
• No white residue (white cast)
Notable “cons”
•Not water resistant
My unsolicited thoughts:
The original ride or die sunscreen. I keep back up bottles on hand. Gorgeous natural glow finish, and an even bigger bonus: it’s an amazing primer under makeup. Although it doesn’t claim any water resistance, I have confidently had many a sweaty girl workout in which it has stuck around without bleeding or producing a white cast. The texture is truly creamy and lightweight, and it glides like butter onto the skin. Much to my initial surprise, despite this sunscreen having a chemical UV filter, I’ve never had stinging or sensitivity around the eyes using this. Which I cannot say for most chemical UV filter containing sunscreens.
Physical Tinted Moisturizer SPF44
UV Filters: Zinc Oxide 10%, Titanium Dioxide 5.5% (Physical)
Other notable ingredients: Glycerin, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic acid
What the brand boasts:
• Oil-free
• Tint compatible with every skin tone
• UVA/UVB/Blue light protection
• 100% mineral
• Water resistant (for up to 80mins)
Observed notable “cons”
•“Universal” tint, no other variations
My unsolicited thoughts:
It’s a good tinted sunscreen. Once again, it goes on like butter. The coverage I would consider light & does a good job minimizing redness, which in my opinion is preferred when a brand calls something a tinted moisturizer. But…hear me out. If you already gave bombastic side eye to the idea of a “universal tint”, you’re not alone. To be honest, as a fair girly, it’s a bit too dark. For once, I feel this is more ideal for deeper skin tones. No stinging eyes or sensitivity from this sunscreen either.
Universal Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46
UV Filters: Zinc Oxide 12%, Octinoxate 7.5% (Hybrid)
Other notable ingredients: Niacinamide, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic acid
What the brand boasts:
• Moisturizing
• Sheer coverage
• UVA/UVB, Blue light protection
• Oil Free
• Light weight
• Works for all skin tones
Observed notable “cons”:
• One “universal” shade
My unsolicited thoughts:
This tinted SPF came before their Physical Tinted Moisturizer but behaves-in my opinion-on the skin in the exact same manner. Glowy, goes on like butter, no stinging or irritation around the eyes. But once again, similar in shade to the physical and therefore for truly fair girlies-at least for me- it’s slightly too dark if you’re wanting an exact skin match.
UV Filters: Zinc Oxide 17% (Physical/Mineral)
Other notable ingredients: Glycerin, Shea Butter
What the brand boasts:
• Reef-safe
• Water/sweat resistant up to 80 minutes
• Zero residue
• No white cast
Observed notable “cons”:
• More difficult to spread than their other formulations
• Slightly tacky finish
My unsolicited thoughts:
This sunscreen has a much richer texture and is a little more work to blend into the face, having less glide than their other formulations. Although initially it looked like it would leave a white cast, I found it-for me- to dry perfectly clear, which is quite impressive for a completely mineral sunscreen. Although it feels slightly tackier than their other sunscreens it does not dry extremely shiny at all, nor does it leave any chalky residue on the skin whatsoever. A very good go to for a beach day.
