This sunscreen is classified as a “hybrid” sunscreen due to its use of both physical and chemical active sun protection ingredients. This sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide and Octinoxate. It is dispensed in an opaque elevator pump bottle containing 2fl oz and has a light cream texture. It appears like many sunscreens with little to no “beach” smell straight out of the bottle. It easily spread and sinks into the skin leaving little to no white cast. (Full disclosure: pale girl talking here) My current all time favorite sunscreen. Does not pill up under a mask or with makeup. Minimal scent that dissipates, no artificial fragrances. This sunscreen sits wonderfully under makeup, and gives off a beautiful-sparkle free-glow and hydrated appearance.

2. P:rem face/body-SPF 50 PA++++
A physical sunscreen with little to no scent at all. White opaque color, thin runny milky consistency. Blends easily and absorbed well with no “sitting on the top of the skin” feel. May be used for face and/or body. Opaque 5fl oz bottle with narrow dropper like tip. Very minimal white cast that fades as it sits on the skin.
3. A’pieu pure block-Aqua & Original, SPF 50+, PA+++
The A’pieu pure block sunscreen line has several varieties. Of the available options I have used both the original in the orange tube and aqua in the light blue tube. Both are chemical sunscreens with a very lightweight feel and although they do contain fragrance, it has not irritated my reactive acne prone skin. The original pure block has a more opaque appearance, whereas the aqua has a very light “gel-cream” texture and appearance. No white cast whatsoever. Non offensive fragrance that does not smell beach-like. Does not pill up under a mask or with makeup.
4. Missha Essence Sun milk (green cap)-SPF 50+, PA+++
A chemical sunscreen that dispenses out of an opaque white tube with a tapered drop like tip. Runny and extremely lightweight. No white cast. However, not water resistant and has the potential to sting the eyes if face becomes wet. Does contain fragrance that is unoffensive and has not irritated by reactive acne prone skin. Missha also makes a waterproof version, although its scent is quite potent and smells reminiscent of baby powder.
5. Banana boat light as air- Broad spectrum SPF 50
A chemical sunscreen that is light and absorbs quickly without a shiny or sticky residue. Water resistant with no white cast. I have only personally tested this sunscreen on my body and love it. Minimal “beach” scent that dissipates. A safe bet as a body sunscreen. 6fl oz of product in a standard tube.
A fully physical sunscreen strictly powered by Zinc oxide. Dispensed in opaque tube with pump. Texture is creamy and soft with minimal white cast. Very sheer mint green color that blends out and assists with neutralizing redness in the skin. Easy to spread with nearly no scent at all. However, it does have the tendency to pill up under a mask.
7. AHC natural perfection double shield sun stick-SPF 50+/PA++++
For the makeup free girl on the go. Angled stick packaging with twist up. Light blue in appearance on the stick but clear on the skin. It is chemical sunscreen with no cast. Glides easily onto the skin with essentially no scent.
8. [Abib] Quick sunstick Protection bar SPF50+ PA++++
Yet another wonderful “on the go” sunscreen stick, and a personal all time favorite when it comes to stick sunscreens. Glides onto the skin like butter, with absolutely no white cast. The formulation is entirely clear, and the contoured stick makes it super easy to get nice even application all over the face.
